Article Summary & Evaluation Paper

Choose an article. Read the article critically noting the quality of the research.

Write a summary and evaluation of the article using APA style.

Summary/evaluation should be between 600 to 1000 words (~2 to 3 pages of text).

Cite your textbook when commenting on the quality of the research.

Summary paper should include:

1) Title page: includes Running Header, appropriate title and you (the student) as the author

2) Abstract: no more than 50 words

3) Introduction: Give your opinion in testable objective terms.

4) Summary: Summarize the article with appropriate citations of the article (300-500 words).

5) Evaluation: Evaluate the research reported in the article, citing your textbook where appropriate (300-500 words).

6) Closing: state why your summary demonstrated that your opinion is correct; also include topics for future research

7) References: The first two include your article and your text book in APA format. You may include one or two more to back up your opinion if citing them does not take away from the main focus of summarizing the article.
